How Bilby works
Outdoor furniture, equipment and lighting
Each object receives a product allowance
Outdoor furniture and play equipment are priced per placed object, using selected seat count, lounge size or trampoline diameter where applicable. The outdoor budget keeps separate object results even though they share a furniture category. Lighting is an optional installed light-point allowance. Spas and plants use their own methods, not the generic furniture allowance.
Products and ordinary setup
Dining/lounge allowances include a complete ordinary set, modest delivery and assembly. Recliners are per chair. The barbecue is a standalone four-burner gas product with ordinary initial fittings, not an outdoor kitchen. Swings include domestic equipment and anchors; trampolines include safety net, assembly and ordinary anchoring. Special safety surfacing, in-ground trampoline excavation, landscaping, permanent gas/water supply and custom masonry are excluded. Surface and electricity connection costs have separate owners.
Which choices change the price
Table shape, furniture colours, chair material, lounge arrangement and recliner angle stay within broad product allowances. They do not create individual supplier prices.
| Product | Selected quantity | Allowance |
|---|---|---|
| Dining set | 2 / 4 / 6 seats | 1,500/4,000/10,000; 4,000/8,000/20,000; 6,000/12,000/30,000 |
| Lounge | normal / large | 5,000/12,000/30,000; 8,000/20,000/45,000 |
| Recliner / BBQ / swings | one object | 1,000/3,000/8,000; 8,000/13,000/23,000; 5,000/9,000/18,000 |

Fixed product scenarios and lighting
For furniture, add the selected fixed allowance once per object. There is no price per square metre of the drawn footprint. Lighting uses fixed 2,000/4,000/8,000 SEK plus 2,500/5,000/9,000 per installed point, including normal cable/fittings on a coordinated project. Long service trenches, main-grid connection and smart-home premiums are outside it. Other outdoor costs are separately selected scope, not an automatic surcharge on each item.
Illustrative terrace furnishing
A fictional four-seat dining set, normal lounge and two recliners give 11,000/26,000/66,000 SEK. Four separately selected lighting points give 12,000/24,000/44,000 SEK. Together they are 23,000/50,000/110,000 SEK, before the terrace surface. Changing cushions from blue to green does not change this calculation; changing the dining set to six seats does.
Replace broad allowances with chosen products
The scenarios span ordinary procurement choices and assembly assumptions; they are not retail availability or offers. Material and colour controls do not establish exact SKUs. If an object is already owned, record the appropriate manual price or inclusion rather than leaving a new-purchase estimate. Delivery access, electrical capacity and playground safety need project review.
Product anchors and review date
Method reviewed 18 October 2026; national reference research dated 16 September 2026. IKEA outdoor furniture, JYSK lounge sets and Jula trampolines are product anchors. Bilby’s delivery/assembly and specification bands are additional modelling.
The review date covers this explanation and its implemented method. Price and data dates are stated separately in the article.
